The Summer Shift
Why a Slower Pace is the Perfect Time for Something New
We usually look at summer as the ultimate time to hit pause. The weather heats up, routines shift, holidays pop up, and the collective pace of the world slows to a gentle crawl.
Our instinct is often to wait. “I’ll start that new habit in September,” we tell ourselves. “I’ll focus on my health when life gets back to 'normal' after the holidays.”
But what if we flipped the script?
What if a slower pace is exactly what you need to try something new? When the frantic rush of the year takes a breather, it leaves behind something incredibly rare: room to breathe. Without the heavy pressure of a packed schedule, summer gives you the perfect, low-stakes window to build a new practice—not out of obligation, but out of pure self-care.
A Note From Katia: Finding My Own Rhythm
If you feel intimidated about starting a new practice, believe me, I understand. When I first began my own journey, I had to look for spaces that felt supportive rather than demanding. It’s exactly why I trained under Hersha Yoga Academy—their philosophy of teaching the whole person with safety and deep compassion completely shaped how I look at wellness.
Today, the classes I teach at PathCoach are firmly rooted in that very foundation. If you’ve ever sat in one of my sessions, you’ve already experienced a sample of this inclusive, body-positive style. This summer, I want to invite you into that same welcoming space. Don't shy away from starting something new. Whether you want to quiet a racing mind, move your body without judgment, or plan a deeper reset, we’ve mapped out your path.
Here is how you can use the summer shift to care for you:
